Traversing through a maze of vocations like, photography government service and even business; he finally found his calling in Fine arts, painting to be specific. Meeting different painters from different parts of India and abroad, and seeing their works of art; his thirst to become a painter ended in finding a Guru in Jayapala Panicker, a famous painter of India. Driven by an inner force he trained with his Guru for two years; practicing under his keen eye. In 1994, Hariom started an art gallery by the name of Chitraniketan Art Gallery. Even though painting has been a strong part of Kerala's cultural heritage, the idea of having a private art gallery was new to the citizens of the city. His first solo exhibition was held in 1996 at Chitram Art Gallery, Cochin; and was followed by the 2nd solo in Trivandrum in the year 1997. In December 1998 he participated in a Group Show in Trivandrum at the Chitraniketan Art Gallery. Hariom has also produced and co- directed two documentary films: "A Short History of World Paintings", and "A Short History of Indian Paintings". Also to his credit is the production and direction of a documentary on C.N .Karunakaran and Haridasan, two famous painters of India COLLECTIONS
