She combines in herself various roles of performer, teacher, choreographer, researcher, cultural organiser, arts administrator and media person to all of which she brings exacting standards. Her passionate belief in the strength of traditional forms combined with a contemporary understanding of both the print and the television media make Prathibha a modern day "arts crusader". Prathibha has had the fortune of training under some of the best dance Gurus that the country has ever seen-Guru Sri V. S. Muthuswamy Pillai, Guru Smt. Kalanidhi Narayanan, Smt. and Prof. U. S. Krishna Rao and Dr. Vempatti Chinna Satyam. Prathibha has performed extensively in India and abroad and won many an honour both at the state and the national levels, including the Central Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for Bharatanatyam-2001, Karnataka State Government Award-2001, the Mahila Shiromani Award, presented at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and the Karnataka Sangeet Nritya Academy Award. Prathibha is a 'Top Grade' artiste of Doordarshan - the national television. A postgraduate in Mass Communications, an MPhil in English Literature, and an enviable experience in the performance, print and television media give Prathibha a winning quality that is hard to compare. Prathibha writes for leading newspapers and is a frequent invitee to seminars and other academic activities internationally. She has also produced, directed and acted in television serials. Prathibha Prahlad heads the Prasiddha Foundation which has established itself as one of the premier cultural organisation of the country.
